Will reducing the size affect the picture quality?

Smaller sized pictures have less resolution and therefore may look less sharp. But if you just want to show it on the web, viewed from a computer monitor or an overhead projector, then you may not notice the quality difference. We use JPEG format that is known for its excellent quality optimization. Play around with different sizes and find the one that is a happy medium between size and quality.

Will it enlarge pictures?

Due to popular demand, picture enlarging is now supported. Please note that pixelation effect may occur.

Can I delete the original pictures?

You can if you wish, however, if you want to print that picture at a later date, it is suggested that you use the original high resolution original as it would look better and sharper outside of a monitor. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the originals.

What is the difference between the free version and the licensed version?

The free version will reduce pictures to 640 x 480 size only. There is no time limitation to use the free version. The licensed version can convert to different sizes.

What is "drag and drop"? Can you show me the step by step guide?

Watch the demo video for a visual demonstration on how to use the software.

  1. Open the folder where you keep your pictures (e.g. 'My Pictures' folder).
  2. Make sure you can still see the resize software on the desktop.
    • If you can't see the resize software when you open your picture folder, move your picture folder around until you see the resize software on your desktop.
    • If you can't move your picture folder, Try clicking the 'Restore Down' button which is located on the top right part of the screen next to the [X] 'Close' button. The picture folder will become smaller and you can move it around.
  3. Single-click on the picture (or folder) you want to resize. While still pressing the left mouse button, move your pointer to the resize software. Once your pointer is over the resize software, release the left mouse button.
  4. Wait until it's finished processing, and click any key to exit.
  5. Look for a new folder called 'resized' on your desktop. Open that folder and you will see your resized pictures there.
